My News

Glazing

For the first time since graduating in 1997 I have felt it necessary to carry out a period of research into glazes. My aim was to create shiny surfaces and bright colours which were representative of seasonal change in the landscape. I fire my work to high stoneware temperature for durability, yet bright colours in glazes will burn away when temperatures are too high. I decided to try, and my studio turned into a chemistry lab for a few months. It was a creative, experimental voyage with many interesting results, some disappointments and many triumphs.

The work that resulted can be seen at Westonbirt Arboretum [See Exhibitions]

I would like to thank The Arts Council England

for funding this period of research.

Moving

I have now relocated my studio to the peak district national park, where I have just completed building a new work space.

The wonderful, rugged scenery, and vast open moor land will inspire a new and exciting phase in my life and I look forward to showing a new body of work in the gallery pages as well as live exhibitions.
